How quickly can care begin?
For most families, within 4–7 days. We never rush a match — but we move quickly. Urgent cases (post-hospital discharge, a fall, a sudden change) can be staffed within 24 hours by a backup caregiver while we make the long-term match.
What makes Ever Harbor different from a national agency?
We stay small on purpose. A small team of caregivers, hands-on care directors, and a single 24/7 phone line that always rings to a real person. We don't churn caregivers, we don't cut hours from outside, and we don't take a family we can't fully cover.
Are caregivers employees or contractors?
Employees. Every Ever Harbor caregiver is W-2, fully bonded, insured, and background-checked. We pay above the regional median because the work is the work.
What if the match isn't right?
We replace, no charge, no questions. We pre-screen carefully so most matches stick — but if it isn't right, you call us and a new caregiver is on the schedule within 48 hours.
Do you accept long-term care insurance?
Yes. We work directly with most major LTC carriers (Genworth, John Hancock, Mutual of Omaha, Lincoln, and others) and the VA Aid & Attendance program. Our intake team handles the paperwork and submits invoices on your behalf.
Can the same caregiver really come every day?
Within reason — yes. Every plan has a primary caregiver and one or two trained backups your loved one has met. We schedule six weeks ahead so vacations and sick days are never a stranger at the door.
How do I see what happened during a visit?
The Family Log: every visit is logged in plain language by your caregiver — meds, meals, mood, any small or large thing — and pushed to the family by 9 PM each day. Access for up to four family members, anywhere.
